Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Pension Fund of Russia Alexei Ivanov and Head of the Russian Central Bank’s Main Security and Information Protection Office have signed an agreement on cooperation to combat hacking.
The signing ceremony took place at the 26th International Financial Congress ‘Finance for Development’ that is currently taking place in St. Petersburg. The signing ceremony was also attended by State Secretary and Russian Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Andrei Pudov.
The agreement aims to improve mechanisms used to ensure the information security of the Russian financial system.
Per the agreement, the Pension Fund and the Bank of Russia, as represented by the authorized unit of the Centre for Monitoring and Responding to Hacking in the Credit and Financial Sector (FinCERT), will start exchanging information and experience in matters concerning cybersecurity. The information exchange is designed to increase the level of protection for entities involved in the Russian financial market and their clients against threats posed by cybercriminals as well as to ensure that the national payment system and websites of financial organizations run smoothly.
