Natalia Volchkova

Assistant Professor of Economics, New Economic School (NES)

Position: Assistant Professor of Economics, New Economic School; Policy Director, Centre for Economic and Financial Research. Natalya Volchkova is one of the leading Russian researchers in areas of international trade theory and policy, globalization, foreign direct investments, natural resource economics, business climate improvement. She also serves as an expert in international economics in Economic Education and Research Consortium. As an expert she regularly participates in the projects initiated by World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Eurasian Development Bank, Russian and foreign companies. She led a number of projects for the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Russia, Eurasian Economic Commission, and other Russian ministries. She is also a member of the expert council of the Open Government. In 2001 - 2002 Natalya was a visiting researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2008-2009 she was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard University. Her research is published in leading economic journals in Russia and abroad. Some results of her research were used to design road maps for export facilitation and strengthening competition in Russia
