Director General Financial Stability, Regulation and Resolution, Banco de España
Jesús Saurina is the Director General Financial Stability, Regulation, and Resolution at Banco de España. He is a member of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Spanish Executive Resolution Authority (FROB) and the Spanish Deposit Guarantee Fund. Internationally, he is a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), a member of the Board of Supervisors and the Management Board of the European Banking Authority (EBA), a member (as observer) of the Plenary of the Single Resolution Board (SRB), a member of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) and of the Financial Stability Committee (FSC) of the European Central Bank/Eurosystem. He is also a member (alternate to Governor) of the Standing Committee on Supervisory and Regulatory Cooperation (SRC) of the Financial Stability Board (FSB). Ph.D. in Economics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. CEMFI postgraduate. Former Associate Professor at Carlos III University in Madrid. Papers published at Journal of Political Economy; Econometrica; American Economic Review; Review of Financial Studies; Journal of Financial Economics; Journal of Financial Intermediation; Journal of Money, Credit and Banking; among other journals.
