Elina Ribakova

Elina joined the IIF from Bruegel in Brussels where she was a visiting fellow conducting research in economic security, the use of the euro and global financial markets, and Russia’s economic and geopolitical developments, including relations with the US, Europe and the Middle East. Prior to that, she was Head, EEMEA Research; Managing Director, Deutsche Bank in London.
She has held many other senior level positions such as Senior Economist, Amundi (Pioneer) Asset Management; Chief Economist, Avantium Investment Management; Chief Economist Russia/CIS and Global Cross-country Themes, Citigroup.
Elina started her career at the IMF, Washington DC, where she worked for 9 years. She also taught graduate and undergraduate courses in international macroeconomics at the Stockholm School of Economics, the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, and gave guest lectures at the London School of Economics, New Economic School in Moscow and Chicago Booth in London.
